During the ratification of Proclamation No. 2223, Sheikh Ahmad (positioned third from the left) had a meeting with His Excellency President Ferdinand E. Marcos at MalacaƱang Palace. This meeting was significant as it concerned the exclusion of approximately 10 hectares of land from military reservation for the benefit of the Jamiatu Muslim Mindanao.

This page is dedicated to exploring the life, legacy, and contributions of Sheikh Ahmad bin Haji Bashir Mohammed Shafiin Bashir, a renowned Filipino Muslim scholar, educator, and community leader. Born on January 1, 1919, in Tamparan, Lanao del Sur, Ahmad was a pivotal figure in advancing Islamic education in the Philippines. After studying in Mecca, where he earned a degree in Islamic Sciences, he returned to the Philippines and devoted himself to teaching and establishing Islamic schools. His most notable achievement was founding the Agama Islam Society in 1956, which developed 363 branches of Islamic schools across the country, educating over 5,000 students by the mid-1980s.

Ahmad was also a prolific author, writing 13 books on Islamic, Arabic, and Muslim history. His work extended beyond education as he contributed to the translation of the Qur'an into Maranao and represented Filipino Muslims at international Islamic conferences.
