The Founder

 

Sheikh Ahmad Shafiin Bashir (1919–1989) was a Filipino Muslim scholar, teacher, and leader. He founded the Agama Islam Society, which established hundreds of Islamic schools across the Philippines. Educated in Mecca, Ahmad was instrumental in promoting Islamic education and authored numerous books. He contributed to the welfare of Maranaos and attended international Islamic conferences.
